The 2014 West End Poetry Festival, sponsored by the Town of Carrboro, will be held in October 17 and October 18 and will feature nationally known poets as well as emerging voices. Please join us for all or part of this free festival.
Friday, October 17, 6:30pm-8:30pm at Flyleaf Books in Chapel Hill
An opening reception and readings by five poets
Saturday, October 18, 12:00pm-8:30pm at the Century Center in Carrboro
An open workshop on form and its uses (even for free-verse poets), panel sessions on poetry and place, an open mic, a light dinner and reception, and a final reading featuring Cathy Smith Bowers, Poet Laureate of North Carolina from 2010 to 2012, and Celisa Steele, Carrboro's current Poet Laureate.
